ChatToDash

How it works

ChatToDash is a library of dashboard templates for people who work with Claude or Codex. The dashboards give the tasks, ideas and information that come up in conversations an orderly place, one you can keep managing and shaping through the chat.

Pick a starting point

Choose a dashboard from the library and follow the getting-started steps. The dashboard is built on your computer, in your own folder, and the AI tool you already work with connects to it directly.

Every template is a suggested layout: use it as it is, or tailor it to fit you exactly. Add what is missing, remove what is not relevant, and change the structure to match your work. No code or design skills needed: just explain to the chat what you want.

From the conversation to the dashboard

A few ideas came up mid-conversation that you want to move forward? Write: "Add these ideas as tasks on the board for next week" and they land in the dashboard, ready for the next step.

Missing a way to mark priority, filter by project or see what is stuck? Ask the chat to add it. You can open tabs, change views and even create a new dashboard for a need you discovered along the way.

That way, what comes up in a conversation gets a place you can come back to, and the interface changes along with your needs.

Real events reach the calendar on their own

Let information come to you

You can ask the AI to look for information and put it in the dashboard. For example: find events in your field and region, check the details on the official sites, and gather dates, prices and links on the calendar.

You can also set the search and the update to repeat every week. Want to mark events you have already spoken at, or filter by price? Tell the chat, and it adds it. The same way of working can track jobs, tasks and any other information that matters to you.

The idea is the flow: in the conversation you think, research and move things forward; in the dashboard you see the picture and manage what comes next. You can move between them throughout your work, with simple instructions in your own words.

How I got here

This library grew out of my personal work with people in IGNITED OS, where we make AI part of their everyday work. We work on their real tasks and projects, and build ways of working together that fit each person's needs and style.

Along the way I kept seeing the same challenge: the more tasks flow into the chat, like writing, research, planning, project management and looking for opportunities, the harder it becomes to keep order, prioritize and follow everything the conversations create.

The dashboards were one of the tools I made to help bring order. They grew from the needs of the people I worked with, and kept changing as the work moved on. The link to the conversation let us manage the information and adapt the tool itself, without stopping each time for a separate development process.

I gathered these starting points here so you can take them into your own work. They are also a taste of what we do in IGNITED OS: learning what AI can do through the work itself, and building from it a personal work environment that keeps evolving with us.
